Audiovisual Media Services Directive (TVWF) Working Group PDF Print E-mail

The Television Without Frontiers Directive is currently being revised by the European Union to become the Audiovisual Media Services Directive. It has caused huge interest in the digital media and technology world because it proposes extending rules which previously applied to ‘traditional television’ to new forms of online, on-demand audiovisual media.

To help UK industry lobby effectively as the Directive makes its way through the EU process, and to work collaboratively with the UK government and Ofcom, the BSG has formed a cross-industry stakeholder group. The group is open to anyone with an interest and currently includes over 100 members from across the media, telecoms and technology sectors.

The group holds regular meetings to update members on developments, and to discuss potential ways to issue joint statements and responses.

To find out more and to join the group please contact us.

The group’s original position paper can be viewed at this dedicated site: http://www.audiovisualstakeholders.org/ and further documents that have been produced by the group can be viewed below.
