Competition

Competition

The BSG recognises that competition has brought a number of benefits to users; increased capacity, more ubiquitous digital networks delivering more innovative content and services at low prices. This has helped to drive demand and take-up.

There are a range of views amongst BSG sponsors on whether the same or increased levels of competition can be brought about in the future given the current transition between ‘standard’ (2+ Mbit/s) and ‘superfast’ (24+ Mbit/s) broadband, the widespread adoption of 4G, the start of ultrafast services, the bundling of services and our greater understanding of increases in data consumption. The BSG is seeking to explore these issues and are hosting an event on the 24 November.
