The results are out for the Home Broadband Genie survey 2017

Comparison website Broadband Genie published today the results of its annual survey, rating broadband providers for their customer and technical support, value for money, reliability and speed satisfaction. The overall winner this year is Plusnet, ahead of Virgin Media (last year’s winner), Sky, EE, BT, and TalkTalk.

Out of seven categories, Plusnet was ranked second by broadband users across the country for the reliability of their connection (behind Virgin Media), and fourth in the category of fastest downloading speed provider. Virgin Media came first in both speed test ratings and customer speed satisfaction.

A panel of industry experts that included BSG CEO Matthew Evans attributed awards to Origin Broadband for best budget provider, Sky for best bundled provider, Hyperoptic for most innovative provider, Netflix as best TV streaming TV service and BBC IPlayer as best catch-up service.
