Project Gigabit (Phase 1b): Open Market Review request for information

Project Gigabit (Phase 1b): Open Market Review request for information

The Building Digital UK (BDUK) team has launched an Open Market Review (OMR) request for information (RFI) to help identify areas needing government intervention. This follows an earlier OMR and RFI for Cumbria. Early market research is an essential part of the team’s engagement with industry to shape public investment. The results of this OMR will provide a better understanding of the broadband infrastructure already in place, and where there are plans for investment over the next three years. The RFI will enable BDUK to make a significant step in the design of the areas to be targeted by the new procurements and contracts.

The OMR RFI is concerned with the following areas:

  • West of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly (Lot 32)
  • East of Cornwall (Lot 33)
  • Norfolk (Lot 7)
  • Shropshire (Lot 25)
  • Suffolk (Lot 2)
  • Worcestershire (Lot 24)
  • Hampshire and Isle of Wight (Lot 27)

The request for information runs from 25 March until 22 April. Following this, a Public Review will take place over the period of a least one month to confirm the eligibility of the premises for procurement(s). The full details of the procurements will follow the conclusion of this OMR and Public Review.
